The results of this survey conducted by Polar Educators International (PEI), its subsequent analysis, and outcomes, will form the core of a report to IASC (will be delivered by May 2024) exploring the feasibility and value of an integrated approach to Arctic science planning and engaging educators ‘upstream’ in the polar research planning process. The report will include results, an executive summary, recommendations and actions, an analysis of the value and framework for including polar educators in ICARP IV and Arctic research planning, and suggest a format for Polar Educators and Arctic researchers working together in Inter-Connecting Communities to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing Arctic building “Knowledge for a Sustainable Arctic”, and strengthening these efforts through education and capacity building for the next generation. It will be publicly available on the PEI website.
