The Icelandic and Norwegian Ministries of Foreign Affairs finance the Artic Research and Studies programme. The Icelandic Centre for Research (Rannís) is responsible for the administration of the programme in cooperation with the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir). The contact person for the programme at Rannís is Kolfinna Tómasdóttir and the contact person at HK-dir is Herdis Kolle. Grants are awarded for preparatory support for the initiation of joint grant applications.

Higher education institutions and research organizations.

Objectives
To encourage scientific cooperation between higher education institutions and research organizations in Norway and Iceland in the field of Arctic science.

Icelandic and Norwegian institutions can apply and be partners. Individuals can not apply.
