Laval University is encouraging interested students to apply for the Sentinel North International School: Shedding Light on Arctic Marine Ecosystem Services. The school will be held July 12-24 in Baffin Bay, Nunavut aboard the CCGS Amundsen Icebreaker. The application deadline is 28 January, 2018.  

A group of international academics has nominated the Arctic Council for the Nobel Peace Prize. Sixty signatories, among them members of the UArctic Thematic Network on Geopolitics and Security, from over 20 different countries submitted their nomination letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee on Sunday.

The Russian-British workshop took place at Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge, UK. This event was organized by UArctic research office within the project “Development of the UK-Russia Arctic Research and Collaboration Network” to deepen existing links between educational and research institutions in both countries.
