Yugra State University hosted the VI International Meeting on the Biology of Sphagnum on 1-11 August. This was the first time when it was held in Russia. 35 researchers from different countries studied distribution of numerous Sphagnum species in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra.

The 2016 Arctic Circle Assembly is two months away. A number of governments, corporations, universities, organizations, associations, think tanks and other institutions are already preparing their participation in the fourth Assembly.

Russian Fund of Fundamental Research (RFBR) and Royal Society of London announced call for projects on organization of Russian-British seminars/workshops of young scientists in 2017 in Russia. Deadline for applications is October 10, 2016.


14 projects got funding from SIU - Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education. The total amount of funds allocated is EUR 586,073 . Projects in humanities, linguistics, distance education, as well as business, energy and aquaculture will be implemented by internatinal experts. 

September 21-22, 2016 Tyumen (Russia) will host the International Oil and Gas Forum with around 2000 participants representing more than 200 oil and gas companies including petroleum enterprises, scientific and research centers, Russian Academy of Sciences and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences institutes.
