The "Arctic Frontiers" conference is a central arena for discussions of Arctic issues. The conference brings together representatives from science, politics, and NGOs to share perspectives on how upcoming challenges in the Arctic may be addressed to ensure sustainable development. Arctic Frontiers is composed of three sections: Arctic Frontiers Policy, Arctic Frontiers Science and Arctic Frontiers Business.
At the scientific section Natalya Simonova and Yana Korneeva (NArFU), leads of the Thematic Network "Working in the Arctic", presented reports on "Assessment of hazards in the professional activity of personnel at oil and gas companies in the Arctic" and "The researches and development for enhanced protection of a human being under conditions of Arctic offshore oil and gas industry". The second report was made in collaboration with partners from the business company "Meridian". Both reports are the results of joint expeditionary field work at oil and gas companies operating in the Arctic.
During the conference participants discussed their research results with international partners and planned future joint activities.
