Conference Objectives:
The Jokkmokk Winter Conference provides a forum where young professionals and students from across political and disciplinary boundaries to:
- Discuss impacts of climate change on the circumarctic and the global connections
- Learn from senior climate policy and sustainable development professionals
- Develop skills for communicating with policy makers
- Form new collaborations and partnerships
Expected Outcomes:
As a result of this conference, it is expected that participants:
- Understand the impacts of climate change on all areas of the Arctic and global ramifications
- Establish mentor relationships with policy and sustainable development professionals
- Acquire skills needed to share their views on Arctic related climate issues with policy leaders and the general public
- Create working groups to carry forward ideas and action items generated from the discussions
