Yakutsk State University is located in Yakutsk, the capital and the largest city of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). Yakutia has much in common with Alaska, Canada and other northern countries: vast, sparsely populated lands rich in unspoiled beauty, abundant wildlife, natural resources, and ethnic and cultural diversity. The city of Yakutsk is on the Lena River. Summer weather is warm (30 – 35 C or 70's and 80's F) and dry.
Each student takes different levels of Russian Language, Sakha Culture, History of Russia and Yakutia. The University Residence Hall is available for foreign students' accommodation.
