The Canadian Science Writers' Association (CSWA) is holding its annual meeting May 24 to 27, 2008 at Yukon College in Whitehorse, Yukon. Scientists are invited to submit a 100-word poster abstract their discussing your northern research.
Ten researchers will be given the opportunity to give a two-minute introduction to their research at the plenary session prior to the poster session. The poster session will provide some of Canada’s top journalists and science writers with leads on news stories, and will give researchers an opportunity to gain wider exposure for your research.
Organizers are looking for original work that is timely and newsworthy. Areas of interest include all northern-themed research: global warming consequences, innovative technology research, sociology, anthropology, health, conservation biology, etc.
The deadline for proposals is May 2, 2008. Conference registration is free to presenters and there is no poster session fee.
The CSWA is a national association of print and broadcast journalists and other individuals engaged in communicating science and medicine to broad audiences.
