UArctic_north2north_logo_cmykThe north2north student exchange program provides opportunities for students to experience different northern regions firsthand, and to share experiences face-to-face by allowing students to study at other UArctic institutions. The program operates in close collaboration with the faculty exchange program to build mutual cooperation that can sustain and support student exchange.
Are you a student at an institution under the University at the Arctic and interesting in experience different northern regions first hand, make an appointment with the north2north contact person at your institution for further information. As a north2north participant, you are studying at another circumpolar institution for a period of 3-12 months and improve your knowledge about northern issues and people.

Students placed in a north2north exchange can, for most countries, apply for a north2north scholarship and/or a travel grant. The north2north Student Mobility Program has at its disposal a number of north2north tuition waivers for North American placements offered by North American member institutions. Students participating in a north2north exchange in the North American region can apply for north2north tuition waivers.

By studying at another university in a circumpolar country, you will have an opportunity to learn about another place and another culture, while learning about your region — the North.

Student mobility through north2north increases your opportunities to contribute meaningfully in building human capacity in the Arctic and have extracurricular experience related to the North. A north2north exchange aims to give you competence and experience you can benefit of in your future professional and/or academic plans.

All academic achievement should be fully recognized at the home institution and count towards the student’s degree requirements. Studies abroad should not normally extend the student’s total study time. Assets beyond academic achievement can be considered on an individual basis. Learning agreements shall be drafted and signed by students at both home and host institutions prior to the study-abroad period.
