BCS Core Courses
BCS Core Courses
Circumpolar Studies has seven Core Courses which consists of a single lower-level introductory course and six upper-level advanced courses in three interdisciplinary fields of study. Together, the core enable students to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of the lands, peoples, and critical issues of the Circumpolar North.
The Core Courses are offered
online
each academic year (September to April) and are available to all students that belong to a member institution; those who do not belong to a member institution can enrol online as an Open Learner. Some member institutions also offer the Core Courses
on-site
(local delivery, at their home institution)
.
Each course is worth 6 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits or 3 North American credits (or equivalent).
